About Chris M. King

Executive coach and motivational speaker Chris M. King is a Los Angeles native, born and raised in Santa Monica, CA. The youngest of three children and the only boy, he grew up in the wake of the death of his 11 year-old sister, Shannon. Chris was only 13 months old at the time and, though he has no conscious memory of the event, he cites it as one of the key inspirations for his choice to live a life of full, authentic empowerment and self-expression.

Chris’s mother, JoAnn, and father, W. Michael, involved themselves in organizations such as the American Red Cross, the US Special Olympics and the Exceptional Children’s Foundation, instilling in Chris and in his older sister, Stephanie, a great sense of gratitude and an enthusiasm for service and giving.

Chris has a gently irreverent style and an uplifting way of re-framing the conventional and inspiring clients and audiences to consider ideas, both new and old, in unconventional ways. He draws forward from his clients their own inner wisdom, inspires them to take action and guides and supports them through implementation. He empowers his clients to bring out their best and holds them accountable to it. With a fresh perspective, strong intuition and an affinity for improvisation, don’t expect Chris to ever provide a canned experience.

As a business coach, Chris works with C-suite executives, business owners, professional athletes, celebrities, and even politicians in areas such as marketing, branding, public relations, communication, goal and intention setting, work/life balance, competitive strategies and exit plans. For more personal matters, he is an incredibly intuitive and compassionate life coach, assisting clients in times of transition, feeling “stuck,” future planning and living more fulfilling and expressive lives.

As a motivational speaker, Chris speaks on a wide variety of topics. He works with business owners and their staffs on goal attainment, team building, client acquisition and retention, conflict/issue resolution and communication. He assists non-profit organizations with philanthropic efforts. Having joined the Men’s Movement, he’s not shy about discussing masculinity with teenage boys and young men, he’s happy to discuss online dating for singles groups and, as a panelist for Allison Armstrong’s Understanding Men seminars, Chris candidly answers the questions women have hesitated to ask men.

In addition to his coaching practice and speaking engagements, Chris is a volunteer for ManKind Project International and a contributor to The Good Men Project. He is honored to be working with Sam Morris as a contributor to Zen Warrior Training®, a highly-disciplined personal development program dedicated to helping people achieve self-mastery. Chris is also a contributor to and coach at Project Bully Buster, coaching teens as they navigate the challenges of adolescence.

Chris is an avid hiker and outdoor enthusiast. He enjoys participating in extreme obstacle courses like the Spartan Race and the Tough Mudder, supporting the Wounded Warrior Project. He is also a supporter of the US Special Olympics, the American Red Cross, and organizations dedicated to women’s issues. He is currently working on his first book.
